Why companies must win the trust of aspirational consumers

Another study on global consumer trends, this one from GlobeScan and BBMG, article via Greenbiz. Seeing such a major shift in preference towards social and environmental responsibility is welcome news, but it makes one wonder to what extent there’s still a perpetual and vested interest in keeping people consumers rather than citizens. Consumers can favor CSR all they want, but “aspirationals” will never see a better world materialize without moving beyond consumption.
